Bedroom overlooking the seaThe Sandgate Hotel was built specifically as a small hotel in the mid-1800s, serving the growing importance of Folkestone as an elegant Victorian seaside resort.

There's little Victorian about our bedrooms now, unless you count the original balconies at the front overlooking the sea (some pleasures never change).

The rooms extend the sophisticated informality of our bars and dining room to our private spaces. They are designed to detach you from the pressures of day-to-day life without smothering you in a false antiquity. All rooms have fully modernised en-suite bathrooms.

Whether you're in the area for work, en route to France or here for an extended break, we want to make you wish you could stay for longer.
