Dining
Informal Elegance
The Sandgate Hotel's sublime contemporary restaurant uses only the best in freshest, finest ingredients and much local produce.
With it's original 19th Century features, the ambiance radiates sophistication, and is complemented by art work from local artist Caroline Ashwood from the Fofu Gallery.
Our Chefs pride themselves on their passion for quality food and service. They also strive to ensure that all customers get good value without compromising quality.

Lunch
We want to accommodate the different pressures on modern lives, and recognise that in the early afternoon in particular people may want to eat well without having time to linger over a traditional extended lunch.
We've thought how we could reconcile these apparently conflicting desires, and the answer's a simple one. If you'd like a business lunch choose in advance from the menus published on this site, call us and let us know when you'll be coming and what you'd like to have. We'll ensure that the lunch is served to fit the time you have available. Alternatively we have an extensive lounge menu.
On Sundays it's a different matter. Our special Sunday lunches offer a delightful start to a lazy Sunday afternoon, and our lounge or terrace offers a perfect place to see out that afternoon. Enjoy the best of traditional British cooking, and then relax with glass of wine overlooking the sea. On Sundays our lounges host the musical expertise of a range of local artists, see entertainment to view who's playing this week.

Our produce
Our Chefs are dedicated in their search for quality local produce. Our nominated suppliers include the finest meat from Gunnes of Hastings and the freshest fish from Romney Marsh Fish Market.
Additionally all our cheeses are sourced from small farms around the south coast.
A recent reviewer commented:
"...bare feet on wooden slats, elbows resting on wrought-iron railings, we sip gin and tonics on our veranda at The Sandgate hotel as the silvery sea sucks on the shingle and Dungeness power station glows beyond. Downstairs, dinner includes deliciously squirting goose egg and local Romney Marsh lamb, and we watch the pink of the horizon gradually darken to black-blue beyond the restaurant's vast windows".
